New therapy trial aims to help teens control angry, defiant behaviors

NCT ID NCT07181928

Summary

This study will test whether a specific talk therapy called Mentalization-Based Therapy works better than standard care for teenagers with disruptive behavior disorders like oppositional defiant disorder. Researchers will compare two approaches: one focuses on helping teens understand their own and others' thoughts and feelings, while the other provides standard psychiatric care plus parent training. The goal is to see which approach helps teens better manage their behaviors and improve their relationships.
