New therapy trial aims to curb harmful sexual behaviors
NCT ID NCT06404684
Summary
This study is testing whether a specially adapted form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can help people with paraphilic disorders. It aims to see if the therapy reduces problematic sexual behaviors and fantasies, improves mental health symptoms like depression and anxiety, and enhances overall quality of life. The therapy is delivered by a psychologist over 12 weeks, and researchers will also interview participants about their experiences seeking and receiving care.
