Mind over movement: can talk therapy speed up hip surgery recovery?
NCT ID NCT07427758
Summary
This study is testing if adding cognitive behavioral therapy (a type of talk therapy) to standard physical therapy helps people recover better after a total hip replacement. It focuses on reducing 'kinesiophobia'—the fear of moving and getting re-injured—which can slow down rehabilitation. Researchers will compare two groups: one gets standard physical therapy alone, and the other gets the same therapy plus talk therapy sessions.
