Can brain games slow dementia? new study tests group therapy

NCT ID NCT07372066

Summary

This study is testing whether a specific type of group activity therapy can help older adults living in residential care homes who have dementia or mild memory problems. Researchers will compare a 14-session 'cognitive stimulation' group, which involves themed games and discussions, to a calligraphy group. They want to see if the therapy can improve participants' thinking skills, mood, social engagement, and overall quality of life.
