Researchers probe hidden hormone impact of lifesaving blood transfusions

NCT ID NCT07288762

Summary

This study aims to understand how regular blood transfusions for beta thalassemia might affect hormone and reproductive development in boys. Researchers will measure several key hormones in 80 boys aged 10 to 18 with the condition. The goal is to detect any early abnormalities to inform future care, not to test a new treatment.
