Summary

This study is testing a text-messaging program for parents of children (ages 11-17) who visited the emergency room for a mental health crisis and were sent home with referrals. The program teaches parents skills to find mental health services and feel more confident managing their child's care. Researchers want to see if this simple, low-cost tool helps children attend more therapy appointments and reduces repeat ER visits.
