Summary
This study is developing and testing an 8-week text message program for parents whose child was seen in the emergency room for a mental health crisis and sent home. The goal is to teach parents skills to find and use outpatient mental health services, build their confidence, and help their child stay out of the emergency room. Researchers will compare the text program to standard care to see if it helps families get better follow-up care and reduces repeat crises.
