Can a simple text save lives? study tests SMS for cancer screening

NCT ID NCT07112729

Summary

This study tested whether sending text message invitations could get more 45-49 year olds to complete at-home colon cancer screening tests. Researchers randomly assigned 6,708 residents to either receive text reminders or standard notifications, then tracked who completed the screening. The goal was to find a simple, low-cost way to increase early detection of colorectal cancer in younger adults.
