Breath tests could track progress for kids with rare muscle diseases

NCT ID NCT07268287

Summary

This small, completed study aimed to test new, less invasive tools for measuring energy production in children with rare genetic muscle disorders (metabolic myopathies). Three participants aged 10-18 followed a 12-week at-home physiotherapy program. Researchers compared simple breath and urine tests against standard methods before and after the program to see if they could reliably track changes in the body's energy use.
