First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tests whether terbinafine, a widely used antifungal medication, can slow the rise of PSA levels in men whose prostate cancer has returned after initial treatment. About 42 men with biochemical recurrence but no visible tumors on scans will take oral terbinafine for 12 weeks. The goal is to see if this drug can delay the need for stronger hormone therapy, which often causes significant side effects.
