Zap the cramps? study tests electric pulses for labor pain
NCT ID NCT07494539
Summary
This study is testing if a TENS device, which delivers mild electrical pulses through pads on the skin, can help manage pain when labor is started artificially. Researchers will compare pain relief in 132 pregnant women who use TENS plus standard care versus standard care alone. The main goal is to see if TENS can reduce or delay the need for an epidural during this early phase of labor.
