Zapping the pain away? device tested for easier IUD insertion

NCT ID NCT06335823

Summary

This study tested if a TENS device, which uses mild electrical pulses on the skin, could reduce pain for people getting an IUD inserted. 60 participants were randomly assigned to receive either the real TENS treatment or a placebo device that looked the same but didn't work. The goal was to see if this non-drug option could provide a new way to manage a common and often painful procedure.
