Zap the back pain? ERs test electrical device as Drug-Free relief

NCT ID NCT07183176

Summary

This study is testing if a small, non-drug device can relieve sudden, severe low back pain for people in the emergency room. The device, called TENS, uses gentle electrical pulses on the skin to try to block pain signals. Researchers will compare the device to a placebo in 250 patients to see if it safely reduces pain and improves comfort within 30 minutes.
