First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests a new surgery for people with large or persistent macular holes that haven't healed with standard treatment. Surgeons will take a tiny piece of the eye's outer lining (Tenon's capsule) and use it as a patch to close the hole. Twenty adults will be followed for 3 months to see if the hole closes and vision improves.
