Tennis elbow showdown: surgery vs. ultrasonic needle – which works better?
NCT ID NCT05757739
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares two treatments for tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) in 90 adults aged 18-70 who have had pain for at least 6 months. One treatment is open surgery to remove damaged tissue; the other uses a needle with ultrasonic energy to break up and suction out the damaged tissue. The goal is to see which approach leads to fewer complications and better function.
