First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a roller device that delivers essential oils during self-massage can reduce pain and improve function in people with chronic tennis elbow (lasting over 3 months). Eighty adults will use the roller twice daily for 3 months. Researchers will measure pain and elbow function using questionnaires and pain scales.

Active substance

essential oil-based emulsion

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a simple, natural way to manage tennis elbow pain at home without drugs or therapy.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage trial with no blinding, and the effect may be due to massage alone rather than the oils. Results may not apply to severe cases.
