Blood flow restriction exercise shows promise for tennis elbow relief

NCT ID NCT07351942

First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tested whether doing light exercises with a blood flow restriction cuff (a device that gently limits blood flow to the arm) could improve pain and function in people with tennis elbow. Fifty-eight adults with recent tennis elbow did supervised exercises twice a week for six weeks. Half used the real cuff, half used a fake one. The goal was to see if this approach reduces pain and improves grip strength better than exercise alone.
