Belly tourniquet buys time for mothers bleeding after birth
NCT ID NCT07016568
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested a special belt-like device (AAJT-S) that temporarily squeezes the main belly artery to stop life-threatening bleeding after childbirth when standard treatments fail. Four women with severe postpartum bleeding received the device, and researchers measured how quickly bleeding stopped and if there were complications. The goal was to see if the device can safely give doctors extra time to prepare for surgery or other treatments.
