Can keeping patients at the right temperature stop Post-Surgery confusion?

NCT ID NCT07378371

Summary

This study aims to see if carefully managing a patient's body temperature during and after a major cancer surgery can reduce the risk of postoperative delirium, a common and serious state of confusion. It will compare a proactive temperature control plan against standard care in 174 adults undergoing surgery for a rare abdominal cancer. The goal is to improve recovery and cognitive outcomes by minimizing extreme temperature swings that may harm the brain.
