Pill-Sized thermometer tested inside patients

NCT ID NCT04174053

Summary

This study tested a new way to measure fever in cancer patients with very weak immune systems. Researchers compared temperatures from a standard ear thermometer to readings from a tiny, swallowable capsule that measures temperature from inside the gut. The goal was to see if the capsule could reliably detect fever earlier, helping doctors start antibiotic treatments sooner.
