Can a video call replace the physio clinic for neck pain?

NCT ID NCT07679373

First seen Jul 01, 2026 · Last updated Jul 02, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether doing physiotherapy at home through live video calls works as well as going to a clinic for people with moderate neck pain from cervical spondylosis. Fifty-two adults aged 45-64 will be split into two groups: one gets in-person sessions, the other gets real-time video-guided exercises. Both groups follow the same 6-week program, and researchers will measure pain, daily function, and how well patients stick to their exercises.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

telerehabilitation

What this could lead to

If effective, telerehabilitation could offer a convenient, accessible alternative to in-person physiotherapy for managing neck pain and disability.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage trial with 52 participants, so results may not apply broadly. Telerehab may lack the hands-on adjustments of in-person care.
