First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tested whether a live video consultation between rural hospital doctors and specialists at a larger hospital could help start therapeutic hypothermia (brain cooling) faster for newborns with brain injury. The study included 115 infants born in community hospitals in Maine. Researchers measured how quickly cooling began and how satisfied doctors were with the telemedicine system.
