Family joins fight: new telehealth program aims to help veterans beat alcohol problems

NCT ID NCT05674409

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a brief family support program to standard alcohol therapy helps veterans drink less. 400 participants (200 veterans and a supportive family member or friend) will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard therapy alone or the standard therapy plus the new family program, all delivered via video calls. The goal is to see if involving a close supporter makes treatment more effective at reducing drinking and improving family relationships.
