Phone program aims to keep Bogotá's elders stronger, safer, and out of hospitals
NCT ID NCT07447492
Summary
This study tested a new 'telecare' support program for adults aged 80 and older in Bogotá. The goal was to see if providing personalized health tips, social connections, and help coordinating services over the phone could help participants stay physically stronger, prevent falls, and avoid needing nursing home care. 155 generally independent older adults were randomly assigned to receive either this phone-based support or their usual care to compare the outcomes.
