Paramedics get remote expert eyes: live ultrasound guidance tested for breathless patients

NCT ID NCT04817488

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a live video link to a specialist can help paramedics perform ultrasound scans on people having severe breathing trouble. About 350 adults with acute shortness of breath will be included. Half of the paramedics will get real-time remote guidance, while the other half will work without it. The goal is to see if remote help leads to more accurate diagnoses and better treatment decisions in the field.
