First seen Nov 11, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tested a new type of artificial lens (TECNIS Next-Generation) for people having cataract surgery. 245 adults with cataracts in both eyes received the new lens in one eye and a standard lens in the other. The goal was to see if the new lens provides better vision at intermediate and near distances without glasses. Results showed the new lens improved vision at arm's length and close-up compared to the standard lens.
