Could a simple patch beat Post-Surgery nausea in High-Risk patients?

NCT ID NCT07480785

First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a non-invasive electrical acupoint stimulation device (TEAS) to three standard anti-nausea drugs can better prevent nausea and vomiting after surgery in people at high risk. About 780 women having laparoscopic surgery for uterine fibroids, ovarian tumors, or gallstones will be randomly assigned to receive either active TEAS or a sham device. The goal is to see if the combination reduces symptoms more than the drugs alone.
