NCT ID NCT07425145
First seen Feb 20, 2026
Summary
This study tests a non-invasive treatment called transcutaneous electrical acustimulation (TEA) for people with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D). TEA uses mild electrical pulses on the skin to stimulate nerves and may improve pain and bowel habits. The trial will enroll 200 adults and compare real TEA to a sham device to see if it safely reduces symptoms and improves quality of life.
