First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tested a painless, mild electrical current applied to the scalp (tDCS) to see if it could reduce obsessive-compulsive symptoms, improve mood, and sharpen thinking. Forty-two adults with OCD were split into three groups to compare real stimulation versus a sham (fake) version. The goal was to find a safe, non-drug way to ease OCD.
