First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether a safe, non-invasive brain stimulation technique called tDCS can improve how young orchestra musicians (ages 18-30) play and feel on stage. Participants receive either real or fake stimulation and then perform a piece, with their performance judged by experts and their anxiety levels measured. The goal is to see if tDCS can boost technical skill, expression, and stage presence while reducing performance anxiety.
