Vaccine boost tested to fight tough tuberculosis
NCT ID NCT04919239
Summary
This study tested whether adding a therapeutic vaccine called RUTI® to standard tuberculosis (TB) drug treatment helps patients clear the lung infection faster. It involved 140 adults with either regular or drug-resistant TB who had just started their standard medication. Researchers compared patients who received the vaccine to those who got a placebo, checking if the vaccine group had fewer TB bacteria in their sputum.
