Cholesterol pill tested as new weapon against TB
NCT ID NCT07303699
Summary
This study aims to find the best dose of atorvastatin, a common cholesterol-lowering drug, to add to standard tuberculosis (TB) treatment. Researchers will enroll 80 adults with lung TB to see how the drug moves through the body and if it helps kill the TB bacteria faster or improve lung health. The goal is to gather data to design a larger future trial testing this drug combination as a more effective TB therapy.
