First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study compares three different ways to screen for and prevent tuberculosis (TB) in prisons in Paraguay. About 4,500 inmates will be checked for TB using symptom checks, chest X-rays, and lab tests, and some will get preventive medicine. Researchers want to find out which strategy works best to lower TB cases and infections, and if it's safe and affordable. The goal is to protect prisoners and stop TB from spreading.
