First seen May 06, 2026 ยท Last updated May 06, 2026

Summary

This study tested a new skin test called EC to see if it can accurately detect tuberculosis (TB) infection in people aged 65 and older. Researchers compared the EC test with standard tests in 780 participants, including those with active TB, other lung diseases, and healthy volunteers. The goal was to see if the EC test is a safe and reliable way to diagnose latent TB in older adults.
