Less invasive heart valve procedure put to the test against major surgery

NCT ID NCT06861361

Summary

This study is comparing two procedures for treating a severely narrowed heart valve (aortic stenosis) in people aged 65 to 75. One is traditional open-heart surgery (SAVR), and the other is a less invasive procedure called TAVR, which uses a catheter to implant a new valve. The goal is to see if the newer, less invasive TAVR procedure is as safe and effective as the standard surgery over one year.
