First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests a simple, needle-free ear stimulation method (taVNS) to prevent confusion and restlessness when children wake up from tonsil and adenoid surgery. About 120 children aged 3 to 8 will receive either real or fake stimulation during surgery, and researchers will compare how calmly they recover. The goal is to find a safe, drug-free way to improve comfort for kids after anesthesia.
