New TAVI technique aims to keep replacement heart valves healthy longer

NCT ID NCT07042529

First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special method of expanding a replacement heart valve during TAVI can reduce harmful thickening of the valve leaflets. About 620 people with severe aortic stenosis who do not have atrial fibrillation will be randomly assigned to either the new expansion method or standard care. The main goal is to see if the new method leads to less valve thickening on a CT scan three months after the procedure.
