Wrist vs groin: which is safer for heart valve patients?

NCT ID NCT06284837

Summary

This study aims to determine whether accessing an artery in the wrist (radial) is safer than accessing one in the groin (femoral) during a minimally invasive heart valve replacement procedure called TAVI. Researchers will enroll 542 patients who need a TAVI to treat a severely narrowed aortic valve. They will randomly assign patients to have their secondary access point be either the wrist or groin artery and compare rates of bleeding and other complications.
