New disinfectant may slash heart device infections

Summary

This study is testing whether using a disinfectant called TauroPace during heart device surgery can prevent infections. About 2300 patients having procedures like pacemaker placement or replacement are being followed for up to 12 months. The goal is to see if this approach reduces the risk of serious infections around the device.
