Who is studied
The study population consists of systemically healthy adults aged 18-65 years who attended the Faculty of Dentistry at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University between January 2019 and May 2026. Participants have diagnostic-quality panoramic radiographs, complete periodontal clinical records, and at least 20 natural teeth with no missing premolars or molars. Eligible participants are classified into taurodontism and control groups based on radiographic findings.

Inclusion Criteria: Adults aged 18 to 65 years. Systemically healthy individuals. Availability of a diagnostic-quality panoramic radiograph. Presence of at least 20 natural teeth. No missing premolar or molar teeth. Availability of complete periodontal clinical records, including probing depth (PD), clinical attachment level (CAL), bleeding on probing (BOP), plaque index (PI), and gingival index (GI). Exclusion Criteria: Poor-quality or nondiagnostic panoramic radiographs. Teeth with extensive caries or restorations that interfere with taurodontism assessment. Fractured teeth. Impacted teeth. Teeth with fused roots or an indistinguishable furcation area. Individuals with systemic diseases or conditions known to affect periodontal tissues. Incomplete clinical or radiographic records.
