First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 36 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding task-oriented training (practicing real-life arm movements) to standard physical therapy could improve arm function in people who had a stroke at least 6 months ago. 39 participants were split into two groups: one received only conventional rehab, the other received conventional rehab plus task-oriented training. The goal was to see if the extra training led to better arm movement, muscle thickness, and daily use of the affected arm.
