Zapping nerve pain: can a device target the right shingles sufferers?

NCT ID NCT06225960

Summary

This study tested a nerve stimulation device for people with long-lasting, hard-to-treat pain after shingles (postherpetic neuralgia). Researchers grouped 77 patients by their specific pain symptoms to see which types get the most relief from the implanted device. The goal is to better predict who will benefit from this expensive and invasive therapy before they try it.
