First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a cream called tapinarof for children aged 2 to 17 with plaque psoriasis, a skin condition causing red, scaly patches. The cream is applied once daily to see if it is safe and tolerable. About 58 children will take part in this open-label trial, meaning everyone knows they are getting the active cream.

Active substance
tapinarof cream, 1%
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a new topical treatment option for children with plaque psoriasis, potentially improving symptom control.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase, open-label study with only 58 participants, so results may not confirm effectiveness or safety for all children. Side effects like skin irritation are possible.
