NCT ID NCT06033144
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study looks at how often Tapia's syndrome—a rare condition causing voice hoarseness and trouble swallowing due to nerve damage—occurs in patients who had a breathing tube for more than 48 hours in the ICU. Researchers will examine 247 adults in a weaning unit to find out how common it is and what factors might increase the risk. The goal is to better understand this poorly known condition and improve future care.
