First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study compares two types of pain blocks—TAP and ESP—for women having a planned C-section. Both use numbing medicine injected near nerves to reduce pain after surgery. The goal is to see which one works better for pain at rest 6 hours after delivery, and also look at pain later, opioid use, and how soon women can walk and breastfeed. About 156 women will take part.
