First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tests whether ultrasound-guided nerve blocks (TAP and rectus sheath) can reduce pain and opioid use after open inguinal hernia repair. About 200 adults having elective surgery will be randomly assigned to receive one of two blocks, both, or a placebo. The goal is to see if these blocks help people recover faster and avoid unplanned hospital stays.
