Doctors test which talc method works best for troubled lungs
NCT ID NCT07167992
Summary
This study aims to find out which of two common methods for applying talc powder is better for treating fluid buildup or air leaks around the lungs, a procedure called pleurodesis. Researchers will compare 'talc slurry' (injected through a tube) with 'talc insufflation' (applied during a camera-assisted surgery) in 160 patients. The goal is to see which method is more successful at sealing the problem, causes fewer side effects, and leads to a shorter hospital stay.
