New hope for kids with tough leukemia: drug combo trial opens

Summary
This early-stage trial tests whether adding the drug talazoparib to standard chemotherapy is safe for children and young adults up to age 21 whose acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has come back or not responded to treatment. The study will first find the safest dose of the combination, then check if it helps shrink the cancer. Up to 34 participants will be enrolled across multiple hospitals.
