Summary
This study tested two treatments for chronic tailbone pain (coccygodynia) in 100 adults. One group received osteopathic manual therapy—gentle hands-on techniques to mobilize the tailbone and relax muscles—over 6 weeks. The other group got a nerve block injection guided by X-ray. Researchers measured pain, disability, and quality of life before treatment and at 3 weeks and 3 months after. The goal was to see which approach provides better and longer-lasting relief.
