New malaria drug tested in children to stop relapses

NCT ID NCT07052162

Summary

This study is testing a drug called tafenoquine in children in Papua New Guinea to see if it can safely and effectively treat a type of malaria called vivax malaria. Vivax malaria is tricky because it can hide in the liver and cause people to get sick again months later. The study will see how children's bodies process the drug, check for side effects, and see if taking it with food changes how well it works.
